Resumen

The vision of the Sanitary Regulation Superintendency (SRS) is to be the leading and regional reference sanitary regulatory authority with high surveillance, which effectively guarantees the quality, safety, efficacy and harmlessness of regulated products, and which also promotes the rational use of these, availability and timely access, and is recognized for its efficient, innovative and high-quality services, to promote the health of the population, animal health and the promotion of economic development.

With this horizon in mind, we continue with our efforts to develop and consolidate our journal “ ConSciencia Sanitaria”, a space that encourages critical thinking, analysis and research, based on a scientific-regulatory foundation, but now including the new powers of the SRS, these new powers being veterinary products, food, beverages, tobacco and alcohol.

As SRS we continue to pursue our main objective, which is to transfer knowledge, concepts and technical ideas to our readers, and to contribute to the accumulation of scientific knowledge necessary to promote a culture of evidence in the world of regulatory sciences. We want to create knowledge through science, which allows us to find solutions to economic, social and environmental challenges, while providing tools for sustainable development and more critical and participatory societies.

At the SRS we are an essential institution for the protection of the health of Salvadorans, with a comprehensive approach that includes everything from the regulation and supervision of products to the promotion of public health and health education. The latter is the reason for this space, since at the SRS we care for everyone’s health.
